Arts (Art, Music, Drama)
Art, Music, and Drama help our students grow socially, intellectually, and emotionally—offering powerful outlets for creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
Our art curriculum is designed to foster both art appreciation and artistic rendering in various tactile media such as pencil, paint, and pastel. Through the study and practice of art, students are taught to recognize beauty as something desirable in itself—something that nourishes the soul and reflects God’s creation. They learn to observe and render with care, developing attention to detail, proportion, and form. Art history is also integrated in our curriculum, helping students understand and explore how different cultures and time periods are visible through artistic expressions. For example, students explore the meaning behind works like Byzantine icons, Van Gogh’s sunflowers, and Cezanne’s still lifes.
Ultimately, our art program aims to form students who not only create and appreciate beautiful things, but who also learn to see more deeply—with reverence, attentiveness, and wonder.
In addition, historical, social, and cultural art activities incorporate music, history, and traditions. Furthermore, a 3D printer has also been incorporated into art activities to further expose students to problem-solving by drawing preliminary sketches, making final drawings, and creating prototypes. Students take risks using a variety of media. Lastly, students thrive by entering and often winning art contests at the community, state, national, and international level.
Our Music and Drama departments nurture a lifelong love for the performing arts in students from PreK through 8th grade. Through hands-on experiences, students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of music, theater, and our world’s rich cultural diversity. We integrate the arts with core academic subjects like Art, History, Math, Science, and Literature, making learning more dynamic and meaningful.
Our students shine through performances and programs that bring our school community together. Each year, they have opportunities to:
Perform in school plays
Sing in our choir
Play in our school band
Attend special musical and artistic assemblies made possible through our strong partnerships with the Academy of Arts and PSA.
The Arts are a vital part of student life, inspiring joy, building skills, and uplifting the spirit every day.
